Is Framer Free? What the Free Plan Allows (and the First Thing You'll Pay For)
Yes. Framer’s Free plan costs $0 and publishes on a free Framer domain with 1 GB of bandwidth, up to 1,000 pages and 10 CMS collections.1 The first thing most people pay for is a custom domain: Basic at $10 a month billed yearly, or $15 monthly.2

Researched, not tested. Built from Framer's public pricing page and help docs, checked Nov 2, 2026. We did not buy a plan. We did not use a Free workspace. How we research

What the Free plan includes
| Item | Free |
|---|---|
| Price | $0 |
| Domain | a free Framer domain; a custom domain needs a paid plan |
| Bandwidth | 1 GB |
| Pages | up to 1,000 |
| CMS collections | up to 103 |
| CMS items | not listed |
| Editors | up to 3 in a workspace without a subscription |
| AI credits | 500 to try4 |
| MCP server access | yes |
Read the pages and collections rows twice. Framer’s pricing page lists these Free limits, and they are higher than Basic’s 30 pages and 2 collections.5 That is odd, and it matters, so it has its own section below.
What Free doesn’t include
- A custom domain. Connecting your own domain needs a paid plan.
- Analytics history. The pricing page lists 30 days on Basic and 90 days on Pro; it lists no figure for Free.6
- Redirects, staging and branching. These are listed for Pro and Enterprise, not Free or Basic.
Free sites show a “Made in Framer” badge; it disappears only when you connect a custom domain or move to a paid plan and republish.7 Form submissions are unlimited across Framer’s plans, per Framer’s October 2025 pricing post.8
The first thing you’ll pay for
Most people leave Free for a reason that fits in one row. This table shows the trigger and the cheapest paid fix.9
| You need… | Cheapest paid fix | Per month, yearly · monthly |
|---|---|---|
| Your own domain | Basic | $10 · $15 |
| More than 1 GB bandwidth | Basic (50 GB) | $10 · $15 |
| Your own domain on a site over 30 pages or 2 collections | Pro (150 pages, 10 collections) | $30 · $45 |
| Analytics history | Basic (30 days) or Pro (90 days) | $10 · $15 or $30 · $45 |
| Redirects or staging | Pro | $30 · $45 |
| A 4th collaborator | A paid plan, plus a seat: editor $20 · $30, content editor $10 · $15 | plan + seat10 |

A yearly plan is also the only way to get a free domain with a paid plan, per the pricing page. The full bill for one, three and five people is on Framer pricing: the real bill.
The big-free-site catch
On paper, a Free site can have 1,000 pages. Basic caps at 30, fixed. So a large site that is free today cannot move to the $10 plan to gain a custom domain. It needs Pro.
A concrete case: a free site with 200 pages that wants its own domain needs Pro plus one extra pages pack (+100 pages), which is $50 a month yearly, or $75 monthly.11 And Pro tops out at 700 pages, below Free’s 1,000. For a free site that really uses 1,000 pages, the only listed plan above that is Enterprise, at custom pricing.
If your site is under 30 pages and 2 collections, the catch does not apply and Basic is the plain $10 step.
Can you use Free for a client or business site?
We can only report what Framer says. The pricing page calls Free “ideal for non-commercial use”, and Framer’s help calls it “perfect for hobbyists and personal projects”; neither line states a rule.12 We are not lawyers and do not give legal advice. If this is for a client, read Framer’s terms and its Free plan help page before you build, and expect to move to a paid plan once the site needs its own domain anyway.
